I'm looking for my father

My name is Gerhard Hans Vockner and I was born in Salzburg, Austria. I do not know my mother or father, except that I know the name of my mother and I was told that she died several years back.

I do suspect though, that I also might have an American GI father, just from the fact that I was born in January of 1950 and my searches reaching dead ends. After years of searching I finally found someone, that is my half brother. He lives in Strobl, Salzburg. That's where also my mother supposedly lived.

My question would be to find out what Army unit was stationed in and around Strobl. I do live in the United States now. Perhaps you all can give me a few pointers in which direction my search should go.
