"Our Commander-in-Chief, the President of the United States, has declared Sunday, May 12 to be Mothers Day. I would like to express the hope that all members of the American Armed Forces in Austria, civilians and soldiers, will give special thought to their mothers through letters or in some other way. Let us thank God for these mothers who have sent us the best soldiers in the world: Men, through whose bravery, our enemy was defeated one year ago."
